2nd Gomi Hiroi program for the month of July was held at Elephant Rock area with the team Rapid 58. It was Rapid 58’s first time Gomi Hiroi experience.
Mr. Thamindu the class teacher joined hands together for a successful event.
14 students were present. All girls and boys were very happily attending the event. While picking trash, questions and answers were addressed with regards to the Gomi Hiroi concept, throwing trash on the grounds and how does it feels to pick the trash. Everyone had the same opinion that they will never ever dare to throw garbage on the streets.
After disposing garbage at the Kurunegala Municipal Council garbage dumping area, all of the members were taken to Kurunegala Lake round. It’s a 90% garbage-free, set Eco-friendly and peaceful scenery place. Everyone had refreshments and enjoyed time together. It was not just a time to celebrate the happiness of trash picking endeavor, but also a minute to celebrate friendship and team work with nature.
