First Green bird trash picking program for the month of September was held on 22nd Sept.
2017 with Rapid 59 team.
There was a special event going on that day.
Sputnik wishes to promote Green bird trash picking program all over the island. Therefore a videography team was called to compose a video clip explaining the consequences of dumping garbage at streets, environmental pollution, what we can do to stop pollution, how we can protect the nature, how to dispose garbage properly and recycling.
Two student teams participated to the event to clean the walking tracks at both directions of Sputnik.
Refreshments were offered after the event and everyone enjoyed.
The video clip is now being aired on movie theaters in Kurunegala area. We hope to gradually increase the number of places it will be aired and to follow up practical sessions of Green bird Gomihiroi trash picking program all over the country.
Let there be a Zero- Trash country!
