6月21日（土）に、昭和女子ボストン校の皆さんとコラボレーションを通して、昭和ボストンさんの地元でもあるJamaica Pond周辺にて清掃活動を行いました！当日は今までにない暑さで、汗だくになりながらも皆さんゴミ拾いに励んでいました。昭和ボストンさんの水色の半被を着ていたのですが、目立つからか街行く人から「こんな素晴らしい活動をしてくれてありがとう！」と声をかけられますます捗ってしまいました。これから町でボランティアの活動を見かけたら声をかけてみるべきだなぁと実感しました！

6月の後半になりましたが、今年も夏がやってきましたね:)) そろそろORANGE RANGEのイケナイ太陽も聞けるくらいの季節感になってきそうなので、半袖半ズボンの準備をして今年の夏も楽しみたいと思います！

On Saturday, June 21st, we held a cleanup event around Jamaica Pond in collaboration with the students from Showa Boston Institute! It was one of the hottest days we’ve ever had, but everyone still worked hard, sweating under the sun while picking up trash.

We wore Showa Boston’s signature light-blue happi coats, which made us stand out — so much so that several people passing by stopped to thank us, saying, “Thank you for doing such a wonderful activity!” Their kind words gave us even more motivation to keep going. It really made me realize how meaningful it can be just to say a few words of encouragement to volunteers you see around town.

Now that we’re in the second half of June, it truly feels like summer is here! It’s almost the season when we can blast “Ikenai Taiyō” by ORANGE RANGE again, so I’m getting my short sleeves and shorts ready to fully enjoy the summer this year!
