今日は、いつもの大切な仲間たちと地域の清掃活動を行いました！朝から少し曇り空でしたが、集合場所に着いた瞬間に皆の明るい笑顔が弾けて、「頑張るぞ！」という気持ちが私たち全員の気分を快晴にしてくれました。
さあ、いよいよ活動スタートです。皆で緑色の「GreenBird」のベストを着用し、準備万端。このベストを着ると、自然とチームの一員としての誇らしい気持ちと、地域を綺麗にする使命感が湧いてきます。
まずは駐車場の隅々、そして建物の周りや歩道沿い（写真2枚目、3枚目）に散らばったゴミを拾い集めました。
「ちょっと見て！こんなところにペットボトルが隠れてたよ！」「あっ、こっちはタバコの吸い殻がまとめて捨てられてるね、さすがに多いな！」と、声をかけ合いながら作業を進めます。誰かが大変そうなゴミを見つけると、他のメンバーがすぐに駆けつけて、協力して袋に入れる。皆が同じ目標に向かってテキパキと、そして笑顔で動く一体感が、本当に楽しかったです。
特に印象的だったのは、道端の草むらの中まで分け入って、見つけにくい小さなゴミを根気強く探すメンバーの姿（写真2枚目、4枚目）。誰一人として手を抜かず、黙々と作業に集中する真剣な顔と、時折見せるユーモアで、現場は常に活気にあふれていました。皆で「これだけ集まったね！」とゴミ袋を見せ合う時の達成感がたまりません。汗を流すこの時間こそが、私たちの絆をさらに強くしてくれているように感じました。
Today, I joined my usual great group of friends for a community cleaning activity! It was a bit cloudy this morning, but our smiles and “Let’s do this!” attitude instantly made the mood feel bright and sunny for everyone.
Time to start the activity! We all put on our green “GreenBird” vests and were ready to go. Wearing this vest always fills us with a sense of pride and mission to keep our community clean.
We immediately set out to pick up the litter scattered around the parking lots, building perimeters, and sidewalks (as seen in Photo 2 and 3).
We kept calling out to each other: “Look! A plastic bottle was hiding here!” “Oh, there are a lot of cigarette butts gathered in this spot!” Whenever someone found a tough piece of trash, another member would quickly rush over to help sort it out. That sense of unity, with everyone moving briskly and smiling towards the same goal, was truly fun.
What was particularly striking was seeing members diligently searching deep into the roadside weeds for hard-to-find, smaller pieces of trash (Photo 2 and 4). No one slacked off; everyone was focused with serious faces, but they still managed to share a joke now and then, keeping the energy lively. The sense of achievement when we show each other our full trash bags is unbeatable! We felt like this time spent sweating together wasn’t just cleaning the neighborhood, but also polishing and strengthening our own friendship.
